Never Comes Soon Enough

Friday never ever comes soon enough, but this week seemed extra long. Holiday vacation hangover must be the culprit. And incorporating home improvement into the workweek is always rough (but when else would it get done??!). Post-work hours are typically filled with Pilates classes, trying out new recipes, catching up on Top Chef and just some light housework. So when those few precious hours are spent on home improvement (i.e. painting trim, re-edging the ceiling paint because that stupid blue painting tape never works as it should, measuring trim, installing trim, patching missed holes where old trim used to be and new trim didn't cover), it really puts a damper on our down time and make the week seem that much more hectic.

It's going to be a weekend of furniture assembly, paint touch-ups, hanging wall decor and I'm sure a Home Depot trip or two. But squeezed into that remaining work is a little bit of fun. With two 30th birthday parties to attend, brunch at one of my fave spots in LoHi (LoHi Steakbar, to be exact) and dinner at one of the newest restaurants in town (ignite!, which promises to be a relaxed urban gastro pub), the weekend will surely fly by. And after the bedroom is complete, I'll look back and think that whole home improvement project was worthwhile too. So happy Friday, may it be both productive and fun!
