As mentioned before, grocery shopping is my most favorite chore. I absolutely love it! And being a bit of a grocery snob, the only place I like to go nearby is the tiny Whole Foods in Capitol Hill. We have what is fondly referred to as the "not-so-Safeway" basically across the street from our house, and although it's been redone as one of Safeway's lifestyle stores, it's still a little rough around the edges. And Safeway doesn't quite meet my grocery shopping needs in general, so it's a moot point.
While Sunflower has it's pros and cons as well, and I will likely still do most of our food shopping at my local little Whole Foods, it will be nice to swing by Sunflower every few weeks for some super affordable produce and bulk foods. And I'm also hoping the new Sunflower will help spur even more development along Colfax. I'm always a fan of more restaurants, shops, bars, etc. that are within comfortable walking and biking distance.
